A Covid-19 case was reported in a private school in South Delhi. It is uncertain whether a teacher or a student tested positive for the virus. To tackle the situation, the entire class was granted leave.
“We are keeping an eye on the situation,” Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Atishi said after the case of infection was reported in the Delhi school.
Earlier, several private school children in Noida and Ghaziabad tested positive for Covid-19. Following the spike in cases, several schools in these areas issued an advisory to parents.
In the advisory, the schools asked parents to monitor Covid-19 symptoms in their children, and in case of symptoms, children should not be sent to school. The advisory also said that in case the child is suffering from fever, cough and loose motion, the child should not be sent to school.
Meanwhile, the Jaipuria School in Ghaziabad stopped physical classes after a Class 10 student tested positive for Covid-19. As of now, the school will conduct online classes.
Besides this, 10 more children tested positive for Covid-19 in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddh Nagar, taking the total number of minors who got infected this week to over 20 in the district, officials said on Wednesday.
Amid the surge in cases, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “We are keeping an eye on the situation. Hospitalisation has not increased. There is no need to panic…If need be, we will issue SOPs for Delhi schools.”
