It’s time to embrace an alternate reality, one in which a comet comes crashing down into Earth to destroy humanity. After the runaway global success of Gerald Butler’s action vehicle Greenland, the movie is all set to release in Hindi, Tamil, and English exclusively on Lionsgate Play on April 15th, 2022. Award-winning actor Gerald Butler takes the lead as John Garrity who is separated from his wife and son (played by Morena Baccarin and Roger Dale Floyd), and he must find a way to save them from the approaching apocalypse that is set to wipe out humanity.
We tell you why you should add Greenland to your weekend watchlist:
Quite obviously, Gerald Butler
Gerald Butler is a good enough reason to watch the movie but in this thriller he steals the show. His heart-wrenching performance is being appreciated for balancing out action and empathy.
Seeding in the possibility of an alternate fate where doomsday isn’t far away, Greenland revolves around the story of a family making an arduous journey while they fight to survive. It will keep you hooked until the last second.
Fiery edge-of-the-seat action elements like exploding planes, and torched cities make Greenland a delight to watch. Director Ric Roman Waugh and screenwriter Chris Sparling envisioned the film’s action sequences in ever-increasing waves of fury that will give action lovers everything they are looking for.
From parenting a diabetic 7-year-old to trying to fix your relationship in the middle of a catastrophe, Greenland promises it all. The film paints a realistic picture of human nature in the face of danger, and that is at the core of Gerald Butler’s character instead of being a ‘regular man with superpowers. It comes with the promise of drama, emotions, action, and a lot more.
While the ending of Greenland is one that’ll leave you thinking, Director Waugh had said in an interview that he’s ultimately optimistic that humankind can prevail even in the most unimaginable circumstances and he hopes the movie will provide viewers with that sense of hope.
