A 9-year-old boy in Maharashtra was accused of sexually assaulting a 4 and a half year old girl.
A case has been registered against a 9-year-old boy on Saturday for allegedly sexually assaulting a four-and-a-half-year-old girl from his neighbourhood in Maharashtra. The alleged incident took place in Ulhasnagar town.
The case was registered at the Thane police station. According to a police official, the victim’s mother filed a complaint claiming that on April 3 the boy, under the pretext of playing, took the girl to an isolated place and sexually assaulted her.
The incident came into light when the girl complained of pain in her private parts.
An offense under IPC section 376 (rape) and relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act was registered at Vitthalwadi police station.
Officials said the boy has not been detained yet.
