Gujarat PCC (Pradesh Congress Committee) working president Hardik Patel said that they (Congress) were believers of Lord Ram and that the BJP was a powerful enemy and they shouldn’t be underestimated. State BJP chief CR Patil, praised Hardik Patel for speaking up in public.
The BJP chief said, “The whole country is influenced by the ideology of BJP. Since 2014, Narendra Modi has been serving the country. It is good that Hardik Patel has spoken this in public. Many people don’t speak.”
Hardik Patel, who is understood to be unhappy with the Congress’s top leadership, said there are issues within the Gujarat Congress that need to be fixed.
Hardik Patel said, “The problem with the Gujarat Congress party is the leadership. I don’t have a problem with any individual leader in Gujarat. The leadership does not let anyone work, and if someone works, they stop them.”
“I have expressed concern with the party high command, and they have assured me a decision will be taken very soon. Even when you don’t like something at home, you express you are not happy with your father and mother. I am telling the truth, so don’t think I am leaving the party,” Hardik Patel said.
Rift is visible in the Gujarat Congress and the party is going through a very difficult phase months ahead of the Gujarat Assembly election. Several party leaders are said to be unhappy with the party. Some others have left Congress. A sulking Hardik Patel may aggravate the Congress’s problems in Gujarat.
Senior leaders of the Congress in Gujarat have warned party members to not speak in public and advised them to discuss internal matters in person.
Hardik Patel said, “We [Congress], as the Opposition in Gujarat, are not able to raise people’s voice. The Opposition has to put people’s demands to the government and fight for them. If we are unable to do so, people will look for options.”
‘ACCEPT BJP’S STRENGTH’
Hardik Patel said, “The BJP has a good, strong base. They have the capability of making decisions. We should accept the enemy’s strength and work in that direction to fight them.”
He said, “The BJP is strong because they have leadership qualities and they take correct decisions. However, I have no plans to join the BJP. It is not even in my mind. Dushman ki taaqat ko sweekar karna chahiye [we must acknowledge the strength of the enemy]. They are powerful, and enemies should never be underestimated.”
Hardik Patel said, “We believe in Bhagwan Ram. On the anniversary of my father’s death, I am going to distribute 4,000 copies of Bhagavad Gitas. We are from Hindu Dharm, and very proud of being Hindu.”
