Following the Agnipath protests in Bihar, police arrested 804 protesters and filed 145 FIRs by Sunday.

Bihar police on Sunday registered 145 FIRs and arrested 804 protesters for indulging in violence and vandalism during the June 16 to 18 protests against the government’s Agnipath scheme.
The state police headquarters in a press statement said that the police are closely scanning the CCTV and video footage of the protesters in order to identify and take action against them. It also said district police officials are carrying out detailed investigations into the incidents that took place in various districts of the state.
Protesters in several districts of Bihar Gopalganj, Kaimur, Chhapra, Danapur, Arrah, Lakhisarai and Samastipur vandalised railway stations and set trains on fire. The total damage done to the railway properties amounted to more than Rs 700 crores.
However, there were no reports of violence and vandalism in any part of the state on Sunday.
The state police has appealed to the agitating youths to maintain peace and not pay heed to any rumour which may incite violence in the state.
