New Delhi:

India reported 1,569 new coronavirus cases and 19 related deaths in the last 24 hours, reported the Union health ministry. With the latest fatalities, the death count has increased to 5,24,260.

The active cases stand at 16,400. A decrease of 917 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

A day earlier, the country had reported 2,202 new cases and 27 deaths.

The active cases comprised 0.04 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.75 per cent, the ministry said.

Tamil Nadu reports 34 new COVID cases

Tamil Nadu reported 34 new COVID cases taking the overall count to 34,54,686 while the death count remained unchanged at 38,025 with zero fatalities in the last 24 hours, the health department said.

Recoveries rose to 34,16,337 with 42 more people getting discharged in the last 24 hours, leaving 324 active infections in the state.

Chennai added 17 new cases leading among districts, while Chengalpet reported 5 cases, followed by Kancheepuram 4 cases, Coimbatore 3 cases while Erode, Krishnagiri, Tiruvallur, Tuticorin, Villupuram recorded one case each.

Telangana reports 38 new COVID cases

Telangana today reported 38 new COVID cases taking the total count to 7,92,665. Hyderabad reported the highest number of cases with 27.

A health department bulletin said 42 people recovered from the infection raising the cumulative number of recoveries till date to 7,88,184. The recovery rate stood at 99.43 per cent.

No deaths were reported today and the death count remained at 4,111.

West Bengal registers 48 new COVID cases

West Bengal today registered 48 new COVID cases, 34 more than the previous day’s figure, taking the total count to 20,18,922, the health department said in a bulletin.

The positivity rate increased to 0.67 per cent from Monday’s 0.27 per cent.

With no COVID-related death reported today, the death count remained unchanged at 21,202.

41 patients recovered from the disease taking the number of recovered patients to 19,97,321.

Madhya Pradesh reports 19 new COVID cases

Madhya Pradesh reported 19 new COVID cases today at a positivity rate of 0.3 per cent, taking the overall case count to 10,41,987.

No death was reported and the death count stood at 10,735, an official said.

In last 24 hours, 41 people recovered from the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 10,31,020.

According to a government release, 11,83,26,163 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far in the state including 21,746 doses administered today.

Maharashtra reports 266 new COVID cases, more than double the cases recorded yesterday.

Maharashtra today recorded 266 new coronavirus infections, more than double the 129 cases recorded a day earlier, taking the total count of infections in the state to 78,81,235.

With no COVID-related death reported today, the total death count remained unchanged at 1,47,855 for the second consecutive day. The death rate in the state is 1.87 per cent, a health department official said.

Out of the total cases reported in the state today, Mumbai accounted for 158 new cases.

So far, 77,31,829 people have recovered from COVID. Maharashtra’s active case count is currently at 1,551 up from 1,526 yesterday.

There are no actives cases at present in the districts of Satara, Sangli, Nandurbar, Dhule, Jalna, Latur, Hingoli, Osmanabad, Akola, Buldhana, Bhandara and Gondia.

Nashik reports 2 new COVID cases, 6 recoveries

Maharashtra’s Nashik reported 2 new COVID cases today, taking the total case count to 4,76,083. The death count remained unchanged at 8,899 as no new death was reported.

Six people recovered from the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 4,67,172, leaving 12 active cases in the district.

Jammu and Kashmir reports 5 new COVID cases

Jammu and Kashmir today reported 5 new COVID cases, taking the overall case tally to 4,54,153, officials said. The death count remained unchanged as no COVID-related death was reported.

The number of active COVID cases in the Union Territory stand at 50. So far, 4,49,351 people have recovered from COVID.

Delhi reports 393 new COVID cases, 2 deaths in last 24 hours.

Delhi reported 393 new COVID cases and 2 deaths in last 24 hours, taking the total case count to 19,10,128 and total death count to 26,198, according to a bulletin by the health department.

In last 24 hours, 709 patients recovered from the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 18,72,020.

The positivity rate in last 24 hours stood at 3.35%. Currently there are 2,910 active cases in Delhi.

Uttar Pradesh administers over 32 crore COVID vaccine doses

Uttar Pradesh has administered over 32,10,86,845 vaccine doses, according to data. Of these, 17,30,37,190 are first dose while 14,50,83,297 individuals are fully vaccinated.

In the age group of 15-17 years, 2,36,01,148 children have been administered with COVID vaccine doses. In the age group of 12-14 years, 77,68,203 children have taken the vaccine.

Nearly 30 lakh precaution doses have been administered in the state so far.

In terms of percentage, over 90.53 per cent of adult population are fully vaccinated and 100 per cent have received the first dose.

In the age group of 15-17, over 96 per cent of the children have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while over 70 per cent in this age category are fully vaccinated.

Odisha reports 3 new COVID cases

Odisha reported 3 new COVID cases today, the health department said. The death count remained at 9,126 with no new fatality in the last two weeks.

There are 118 active cases and 17 more patients have recovered from the disease, the health department said.

Odisha reported 7 cases yesterday. So far, the state has reported 12,88,314 cases.

COVID-19 India News: 12 New Covid Cases In Maharashtra’s Thane

With the addition of 12 new coronavirus cases, the infection count in Maharashtra’s Thane district has gone up to 7,09,380, an official said today. These new cases were reported on Monday, he said. The death count remained unchanged at 11,895. The COVID-19 mortality rate in Thane is 1.67 per cent, he added. In Palghar district, the COVID-19 case count stood at 1,63,612 and the death count at 3,407, another official said. (PTI)
