India Top News Briefing Live:  The CBI on Friday conducted raids at the residence of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in connection with a case it has registered against him and several top excise officers in the national capital over alleged corruption in rolling out of the recently withdrawn liquor policy by the Aam Aadmi Party government. CBI sources said Sisodia’s premises were among 21 locations being searched across the country. “Premises of three top excise officers in Delhi are also being searched,” a CBI officer said.

A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was killed in an ambush by banned insurgents from across the Indo-Bangla border Friday morning in North Tripura district. Speaking to indianexpress.com, a senior official of the BSF, who didn’t wish to be named, said, “There was an ambush around 8.30 am this morning (Friday). One of our personnel was injured. We evacuated him and brought him to ILS Hospital at Agartala but he succumbed to his injuries.”

The Hyderabad Police Friday detained BJP MLA T Raja Singh following his repeated threats to not allow stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui’s show in Hyderabad. After his detention, a video shared on Instagram through Singh’s account said the “TRS government has become a complete anti-Hindu party” and “now TRS government and the Telangana police will be responsible for4 whatever happens on 22nd August..
