New Delhi:

India recorded 9,520 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the overall Coronavirus tally to 4,43,98,696.

According to the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 41 deaths in the last 24 hours due to Covid, bringing the total number of Covid-related fatalities to 5,27,597.

The active cases comprise 0.22 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.59 per cent, the ministry said.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.15 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 3.59 per cent, the ministry said.

Coronavirus LIVE Updates: 185 New Covid Cases In Jammu And Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir registered 185 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday that pushed its infection tally to 4,77,304, officials said.

The death count due to the virus remain unchanged at 4,782, they said.

Of the new cases, 37 were reported from the Jammu and 148 from Kashmir, officials said.

Chhattisgarh on Saturday reported 157 COVID-19 cases at a positivity rate of 2.45 per cent, taking the tally to 11,73,396, while the death toll increased by four to reach 14,108, an official said.

The recovery count rose by 170 and stood at 11,58,033, leaving the state with 1,255 active cases, he said.

Coronavirus LIVE Updates: Madhya Pradesh Records 77 Covid Cases

The COVID-19 tally in Madhya Pradesh reached 10,53,269 on Saturday after the detection of 77 cases at a positivity rate of 1.1 per cent, while the death toll remained unchanged at 10,770, an official said.

The recovery count increased by 92 to touch 10,42,030, leaving the state with 469 active cases, he informed.

Coronavirus LIVE Updates: West Bengal Reports 283 Covid Cases

West Bengal reported 283 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, taking the tally to 21,06,302, as per the health department.

The positivity rate was at 2.94 per cent as the new cases were detected after testing 9,633 samples, it said.

Three more people died in the state, following which the toll rose to 21,457, it added.

Coronavirus LIVE Updates: Maharashtra’s Nashik Covid Tally Rises To 4,81,370

The COVID-19 tally in Nashik reached 4,81,370 on Saturday after 136 cases were detected, while the death toll stood unchanged at 8,904, an official said.

So far, 4,72,158 persons have been discharged post recovery, including 107 during the day, leaving the district with 308 active cases, he added.

Coronavirus LIVE Updates: Gujarat Reports 314 New Covid Cases

Gujarat on Saturday reported 314 COVID-19 cases and two deaths, which took the state’s tally to 12,69,436 and the toll to 11,005, a health official said.

The recovery count rose by 226 to touch 12,56,519, leaving Gujarat with 1,912 active cases, he added.

The deaths took place in Ahmedabad and Gir Somnath, the official said.

Coronavirus LIVE Updates: Maharashtra Records 1,723 New Covid Cases

Maharashtra on Saturday reported 1,723 COVID-19 cases and six deaths, which took the tally to 80,94,845 and the toll to 1,48,224, a health official said.

This was a drop from the 1,846 cases recorded a day earlier, though the fatalities were higher, he pointed out.

Of the new cases, Mumbai Circle accounted for 1,144 cases, followed by 264 in Pune Circle, 154 in Nashik Circle, 58 in Kolhapur Circle, 43 in Nagpur Circle, 39 in Latur Circle, 12 in Aurangabad Circle and nine in Akola Circle.

Odisha Logs 289 New Covid Cases In 24 Hours

Odisha’s COVID-19 tally rose to 13,26,672 today as 289 more people, including 54 children, tested positive for the infection, a health department bulletin said.

The COVID-19 death count rose to 9,171 as a 65-year-old woman succumbed to the disease in Kalahandi district. Fifty-three other patients have died due to comorbidities so far, it said.

Odisha had recorded 296 infections and two fatalities on Friday.

The state now has 1,989 active COVID-19 cases, while 286 more people recuperated in the last 24 hours, taking the total number recoveries to 13,15,459.

The daily positivity rate was at 1.58 per cent as 18,287 samples were tested for the infection in the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra’s Thane District Sees 355 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours

Thane district in Maharashtra reported 355 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 7,40,493, a health official said today.

These cases were reported on Friday.

Thane district, which is part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, is now left with 2,362 active cases, he said.

With no fresh COVID-19 fatality, the death count remained unchanged at 11,939.

The number of recoveries in the district stood at 7,26,590 as of Friday, the official added.
