By Ankit Sharma: Following a dispute that broke out late at night on November 25, 28-year-old Chamoli resident Vipin Rawat was allegedly hit on the head by accused Vineet Arora with a baseball stick. The incident took place at a renowned eatery in the Uttarakhand capital as the scuffle translated into a murder case.
The absconding accused has been arrested by the authorities for the alleged fatal blow to Rawat’s head. Rawat was rushed to Mahant Indresh Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

Along with allegations against the police, there were rumours of compromising with Rawat’s family members.
Due to negligence in this matter, SSP Dalip Singh Kunwar hurriedly suspended the outpost in-charge, Praveen Saini.
Following an order of the higher authority, senior sub-inspector Pramod Shah Kotwali Nagar Dehradun has been appointed to look over the case.
Vineet Arora alias Manni was arrested from Dehradun’s Prince Chowk at 15:45 on Sunday. The accused is being questioned and he will be produced in court on Monday.
Rawat was accompanied by female friends at the eating joint and she released a video along with the deceased young man and flagged a danger to her life. She has demanded safety from the police.
On the other hand, SSP Dalip Singh Kanwar said that the accused has been arrested after registration of a case.
Arora has been slapped with sections 323, 504 506 of the IPC.
During the investigation, based on the medical report of Vipin Rawat, and the statements of the doctor, Section 307 of the IPC was invoked against the accused.
