Shakira channelled her heartbreak into a new song titled ‘BZRP Music Session #53’
It has been an eventful week for both Shakira and Gerard Pique, the high-profile couple who announced their separation last year after over a decade of togetherness. While Pique’s business empire Kosmos Group saw its partnership with International Tennis Federation for Davis Cup coming to an abrupt end, Shakira is ruling music charts across the globe with her new diss track aimed at her former boyfriend.
Shakira channelled her heartbreak into a new song titled “BZRP Music Session #53 featuring Bizzarap, in which she takes a catchy jab at the former Barcelona defender. While it’s hard to surpass the popularity of some of her iconic numbers like “Waka Waka” and “Hips don’t Lie”, the latest single has already broken several records, racking up around 65 million views within 24 hours.
Shakira deduced Piqué was cheating on her after she returned from traveling to find that her strawberry jam was eaten.

Shakira is quite busy celebrating the success party of her new song with her family and close friends. On January 15, Shakira shared a video, in which former Barcelona player Patrick Kluivert was seen leaving her house party while the diss track was blaring on the loudspeaker. Kluivert played for Barcelona from 1998 to 2004 and also served as technical director of the La Masia when Pique was still in Barcelona.
“What would be of us without our friends who dry our tears and celebrate the good times?” Shakira wrote on Twitter.

As per some estimates, Shakira has made over $2,500,000 already from ‘BZRP Music Sessions #53. The lyrics are quite inventive as Shakira takes us through the entire infidelity saga, and it has made her only stronger. She also commented on Pique’s new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti with the lines: “You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo, You traded a Rolex for a Casio.”
Pique, meanwhile, took the song literally, and was seen driving Twingo and spotting Casio on his wrist the very next day. He decided to retire midway through the season, and now focuses on his personal business. Recently, his media company Kosmos Group made over $4 million in profit after arranging a deal with for La Liga for staging the Supercopa final in Saudi Arabia.
